Sometimes you just have to decompress from kids

I don't know about you but being parents to three growing kids that we are doing our darn best to steer in the right direction is tiring work.  It really is not always a whole lot of fun though I could not possibly have ever asked for so many gifts.  To touch my twins' golden hair or see the kindness in my oldest and the outsizedness of my daughter and them interacting with Ana is really what it is all about.  There's so much to do in the house.  We're working on getting a green cleaning service.  But I am also looking forward to Ana putting all of her beautiful touches on our blessed home.  The painting with AFM Safecoat Ayurveda series has begun.  I love the colors.  There is my office, which needs a lot of work, and so does the living room with her Samsung.  We've subscribed to netflix so we don't need to waste gas going out to get a video which we doubt Blockbuster will have anyway.  I like Netflix.  The weekend at the beach was good but we should have stayed longer.  It was so hot in the Canyon and overcast at the beach.  Lovely.  I wanted to stay a lot longer.  Besides we got caught in the worst traffic.  It was bumper to bumper just like going from St. Maxime in the summer of 2009 on the road to St. Tropez, and we ended up in saint Maxime enjoying our lovely stay at the Amaranate and the pool and we can't wait to go back there either to the blue coast.  But the traffic was jittery making on Pacific Coast Highway.  California is overcrowded.  Ana and I are in the cars and not particularly happy, either of us, about being stuck in traffic.  Awful.  And we were tired.  We went out to eat.  We were more tired.  I think there's too much going places sometimes.  I love staying home, so tonight Spenser and I bought baking mixes for corn bread and brownies so we can cook at home and do things with our olive oil from Italy and our chianti and do things at home with the beautiful one.  That weekend we didn't play tennis in a long time.  it was really hot.  But she and I are definitely showing we love sports together.  We run together.  I went running though up on the ridge above the valley and saw the dry town below.  The mountains were across far away.  I went on running.  I did not see a rattlesnake.  I saw a lot of blue belly lizards though.  I prefer gopher snakes, anyway.  The kids are really needing lots of help and guidance, and so are we, God.  Please give us the strength to be our best selves.  Please give it to everybody under your watchful gaze--but especially the God fearing.  You might wonder why we love you so after everything that has happened.  You might wonder why we keep returning.  But you know why.  You know everything.  You are the infinite.  We come to you.
